The year is 20XX. The nefarious Dr. Wily's schemes have once again been toppled by Mega Man—but, weary from his experiences, Mega Man feared for a world without him to defend it. Gathering the allies of justice, he created a team of super fighting robots known as the Rock Force. To help train this new team of robots, Dr. Light created a robot who shared Mega Man's strong sense of justice as well as his abilities, aptly named Justice Man. When a new rogue robot uprising cropped up, Mega Man sent his new team out to quell it...but none of them returned. Fearing the worst, Mega Man suits up once again to defeat the rogue robots and rescue his allies himself.

Mega Man: Rock Force is a Mega Man fangame developed by GoldWaterDLS. It mimics the gameplay and progression system of many official Mega Man games, with jumping, shooting, sliding, and charging shots to deal more damage preserved. There is one key twist, however: when defeating a Robot Master, the player not only receives their special weapon, but rescues another member of the titular Rock Force as a new playable character. These characters have weaponry similar to the weapons Mega Man received from them in their own respective games, with some changed to be made more versatile. The player may battle the rogue Robot Masters (Crypt Man, Pulse Man, Virus Man, Fuse Man, Photon Man, Shock Man, Circuit Man, and Charade Man) in any order they choose before progressing further in the game to uncover the source of the uprising.
