The TurboGrafx-CD is a CD-ROM add-on for the TurboGrafx-16 (TG-16) console, released in North America in 1990. It is the Western counterpart to the PC Engine's CD-ROM² in Japan. This add-on was designed to enhance the capabilities of the TG-16 by providing access to games stored on CD-ROMs, which offered larger storage capacity and improved audiovisual quality compared to the HuCard format.
