Rockman 8, more commonly known as Rockman 8 FamiCom, is an unofficial, loose remake of the Rockman 8 for the PlayStation and SEGA Saturn. The remake was created due to some fans' dissatisfaction with the game's updated art style leading to gameplay that felt slower and clunkier compared to previous installments in the series. Unlike its predecessor, Rockman 7 FamiCom, it does contain a shop; however, due to the team's ultimate objective of creating a game that could be played on an actual FamiCom, several of the original game's features were removed, including the intro stage, Duo's stage, and all animated cutscenes.

The gameplay emulates that of the later Mega Man games for the FamiCom, with the abilities to slide and to charge shots for additional damage intact. The player may battle the game's eight Robot Masters (Tengu Man, Astro Man, Sword Man, Clown Man, Search Man, Frost Man, Grenade Man, and Aqua Man) in any order they choose, before fighting their way through Dr. Wily's castle.
