The PC Engine CD-ROM², known as the TurboGrafx-CD in North America, is a CD-ROM add-on for the PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16) console. It was released in Japan in 1988 and later in North America in 1990. This add-on was designed to enhance the capabilities of the PC Engine by providing access to games stored on CD-ROMs, which offered larger storage capacity and improved audiovisual quality compared to the HuCard format.
