Trivial Pursuit DVD Game: Star Wars Saga Edition is an interactive DVD game. This game is a two player version of Trivial Pursuit DVD: Star Wars Saga Edition which comes with a full Trivial Pursuit board etc and is for more players. This game comes in a black keep case sized box with predominantly silver writing that is enclosed in a card sleeve. The box is four cm deep and opens like a chest, a plastic DVD mount has been glued to the inside of the lid while in the base are recesses for the two dice and the stack of question cards.

There are many similarities between the two games, both games come with two DVDs containing twenty pre-planned quizzes and the question cards look identical apart from the colouring of the game's name. The question categories are also identical, being:

  • Blue - The Cantina: these questions are about specific scenes, cameo roles and alien races.
  • Pink - The Force: this features scenes in which the Force is used or referred to.
  • Yellow - Heroes, Villains & Scoundrels: the title says it all.
  • Brown - The Saga: these questions are about the movie plots, sub plots and story arcs.
  • Green - A Galaxy Far Away: a category devoted to the towns, cities, planets and galaxies of the Star Wars universe - at least the movie versions.
  • Orange - Wildcard: a sort of miscellaneous group

Without having both games available for direct comparison it is not possible to say whether the games use exactly the same questions, however given that both games have the same title and menu screens plus the credits of this game are dated 2005 it does seem probable that this game is a reworking of the big box game.

Gameplay here differs from the big box version of the game in two ways. The first difference is that there are two dice for the player to roll, one die determines whether the player answers a DVD question or a card question while the second determines the question category. The second difference is the scoring system because instead of moving tokens around a board the game has been adapted to use a scorecard system. Both players have a card showing a scoring grid and a cover card that, well, covers it. As questions are answered the cover card is moved to reveal a column on the score card. There are three levels of difficulty to the game so after revealing six, nine or twelve columns the player can attempt the 'For The Win' final question.
