Trio The Punch: Never Forget Me... is a side-scrolling action game. At the outset players can choose to play as one of three characters; Santos, Kamakura-kun, and Rosesub. Santos uses a sandbag and iron claw, Kamakura-kun uses throwing knives and shurikens, and Rosesub uses a torch, sword, and a morning star as weapons.

The goal in each stage is to defeat enemies until the player collects enough dropped enemy hearts which will make the stage boss appear. In between stages, players try their luck at a lottery and can win prizes such as earning an extra life.
