Thoroughbred Breeder II is a race horse raising and stable management simulation game, and the sequel to Thoroughbred Breeder. It plays very similar to the previous game, with the player starting with a certain amount of cash to purchase horses and hire employees. As opposed to the endless simulation of the first game, this sequel recreates a full 30 years of JRA racing history from 1964 through 1993, including all the famous races and horses presented with their real life names. The game also includes more detailed stat tracking and more granular management options. The later PS1 port of the game has enhanced graphics and sound, and adds in data for the 1994 season, but is otherwise the same game.
