Super Stingray is a 2D top-down arcade game. The player controls a tank, and must cross the vertically scrolling map and destroy the enemy fortress at the top of the game area. A variety of enemy tanks and other units such as helicopters, submarines, wall turrets, rows of fighter jets, are on the battlefield in large numbers. The player must destroy them, get to the top of the area and shoot the red circle in the wall to defeat the enemy fortress and move to the next area.

If the player's tank is damaged the health bar runs low and a speech sample yells "Come back! Come back!". Safely return the tank back to base to restore all damage by driving over the repair icon in your home fortress at the bottom center of the game area. The player can also pick up different power-ups at bottom of the game area, by driving over a row of different power-up icons.
