He's running the ball! He kicks! GOOOOOOOOAL!!!!

Soccer Cup Solitaire is a solitaire card game with a soccer/football theme. Like in the FIFA World Cup, you are placed in one of eight groups and must play and win rounds to eliminate the other teams in your group. As the game progresses, the number of teams is whittled down until there is the final two teams in the Finals. You play by clicking on two cards on the field that are the same number, irregardless of suit. If you uncover a flashing card, this is a wild card and it is set aside for you to use if you have no pairs to match. If you have no matching pairs and no usable wild cards, you can click the face-down card stack. Every time you click that stack, a card is turned face-up and placed in one of two stacks, alternately. You can then make matches with these cards, even from between the two stacks.

Sometimes, a opponent's shot or special event card ir found in the stacks. Either of these takes you to a soccer green with a soccer goal. You then see cards that change what is on the face and you click the word stop to stop the cards. Opponent's shot just shows either the ball entering your goal or being stopped by your goalkeeper. If the ball enters your goal, the opposing team gets a point. If not, they don't. Special event cards have several possible outcomes, some good and some bad. These can be things like your fans cheer you on and you gain five more cards to the face-down stack or one of your team is yellow carded and you lose a wild card. Some, but not all, levels have substitution cards. These can be used to move a troublesome card to the side and replace it with a, hopefully, useful card.
