Play Orbitron Online
Orbitron is a space shooter about defending a planet against invaders. The player controls a reticule of a space ship that is located at the bottom of the screen. The reticule can be moved around freely to any part, but the ship itself cannot be controlled directly. Enemies appear from the left or the right side of the screen. Even though the space ship is mostly in a stationary position and invincible, the reticule can be moved very far to the left or the right, causing the screen to scroll and leaving the space ship behind. This is necessary to catch invaders early on, as indicated by the dots on the scanner near the top of the screen. By preventing the enemies from reaching the planet, they also have no opportunity to bomb it.
The space ship has an unlimited amount of bullets and the game goes on as long as the planet is not destroyed entirely. After a certain time a new level is started after a temporary ceasefire. The game then continues with new enemy waves and higher scores for each destroyed enemy, but the planet is not restored. There are five enemy types: bombers, divers, missiles, skinners and trons.
