Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai: Matsuribayashi-hen is the eighth release in the Higurashi: When They Cry visual novel series. It includes parts 5, 6, 7, and 8 of the novel: "Meakashi-hen", "Tsumihoroboshi-hen", "Minagoroshi-hen" and "Matsuribayashi-hen".

It is a simple visual novel without branching paths or choices, where the player simply advances the text to read the story. After finishing each chapter, the player unlocks a number of optional bonus scenes called "TIPS".

"Matsuribayashi-hen" concludes the main story of Higurashi. The source of the tragedies plaguing the village of Hinamizawa is confronted, and all the remaining mysteries are revealed.
