Kaettekita Cyborg Kuro-chan is a platform shooter based on the Cyborg Kuro-chan manga and anime series. Players take control of the titular cat Kuro, a formerly normal housecat who survives being turned into a cyborg and sets out to take revenge on the mad scientist who did it to him with the help of his new cyborg weaponry. Gameplay is standard for the genre; its 2D sidescrolling levels are mostly linear, with players able to equip a variety of guns and melee weapons to take out enemies. Players can freely switch between their weapons over the course of a level. in addition to Kuro, players can also control the manga's other two protagonists, Mie and Matatabi.
