Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy is 2D side-scrolling beat 'em-up game based on the Japanese comic and anime series Fullmetal Alchemist. The story of the game follows the fifty one episode anime series.

In the game, the player controls Edward Elric and has to beat-up various different enemies. These enemies include humans, beasts and bosses. The player also has to overcome obstacles like spikes in the floor and falling rocks. Edward can also transmute a stone wall and a cannon to help him overcome the obstacles and enemies. The game includes a story mode, bonus mode and a mini-game mode.

Connectivity bonuses can be unlocked by having the GBA Fullmetal Alchemist games in the GBA slot of the DS.
