City Bomber's story revolves around a car chase after a shooting at a casino. Players take control of a car and have a limited amount of time to get to the gate at the end of each of the game's four levels. While the player is usually driving the car on packed roadways there are occasional breaks in the road where the player has to make the car jump over these gaps. The roadway itself is full of enemy vehicles that the player has to either avoid or destroy. Sometimes destroying vehicles will earn the player a power-up. Power-ups include items such as rocket boosters which increase the car's speed and wings which make the car jump farther. The player's score is derived from how many enemies they destroyed plus the amount of time that's left on the clock after beating a level.
