Cars is a turn-based racing game where the player must complete a lap at Brands Hatch circuit. At each of 22 steps along the track the player receives a description of the situation and must input the gear, brake and accelerator values they wish to apply at that point. The goal is to finish the lap as quickly as possible without crashing.
