Based on the first season of the 1998 anime series, Sakura Kinomoto must locate the missing magical Clow Cards and become their master.
Throughout the game's story, the player will do daily activities across Tomoeda to upgrade various personal stats, giving the player more freedom to direct Sakura and improving the capabilities of any cards in Sakura's possession. Choices that are made can affect what ending the player will get.
At certain points, there will be battles against magical card creatures. Defeating a creature requires choosing a select number of moves. The player has as many turns as the number of cards.
